WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A crash between a train and a commercial vehicle closed some roads in Russell County Thursday afternoon.

Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Tod Hileman said in a tweet the crash happened at Old Highway 40 and 181st St. in Russell County.

Investigators say that Anthony Moshier, 23, of Hoisington, was driving a Peterbilt truck north on 181st Street and stopped at the railroad crossing. They say he moved forward and did not see the westbound train.

The train hit the truck, pushing it to the southwest corner of the crossing, where it caught fire. Moshier survived. He was taken to the hospital for a possible injury.

The three people on the train were not hurt.
