Two arrested after south Wichita shooting


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman are in jail following a shooting Tuesday in Wichita. It occurred shortly before 6 p.m.

Officers were originally called to the 1700 block of South Glenn for a shooting. 

While officers were responding, they found a 22-year-old man shot at Harry and McLean. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police learned there was an argument between the victim and the suspects at the home on South Glenn.

Police said Arienna Harwood was booked on suspicion of aggravated child endangerment, battery and theft. John Murphy was booked on suspicion of aggravated battery, four counts of aggravated assault, criminal discharge of firearm at an occupied dwelling and theft.

Police said the shooting wasn’t a random incident, and the victim and the suspects knew each other.
