If you are elected, what are the first three things that you want to accomplish?

  • Continue helping Kansans navigate the insurance industry. Since taking office, the Department has returned more than $24 million to Kansans.
  • Build upon the work done in my first term to modernize Department operations and find savings through efficiencies
  • Reduce the regulatory cost of doing business. Since taking office, the Department has reduced insurance and securities fees by more than $35 million

What do you think is the main role of the commissioner of insurance?

To fulfill the mission of the Kansas Insurance Department, which is to Regulate. Advocate. Educate. The Department oversees the state-based regulation of insurance, working to ensure the solvency of Kansas companies and the integrity of those selling products. The Department advocates on behalf of Kansas companies, agencies, agents, and consumers and works to educate on new rules/regulations, industry trends, etc.

Why should people vote for you?

I love my job. I love helping the people of Kansas. It is an extension of my work as a pharmacist. Under my leadership, the Department has returned more than $24 million to Kansans, found numerous efficiencies that save taxpayer dollars and reduced fees to help make Kansas a great place to do business. I’d be honored to have your vote on or before November 8th.
