Indy 500

This year's Indy 500 field features 9 former winners

INDIANAPOLIS — The field is set for the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

Veteran driver Scott Dixon captured the top spot on Pole Day. The 40-year-old shares the front row with 21-year-old Colton Herta and 20-year-old Rinus VeeKay—two up-and-coming drivers who are part of a youth movement in the 2021 field.

Fans will find plenty of familiar names among the starters, including Ed Carpenter, Tony Kanaan, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Helio Castroneves, James Hinchcliffe, Takuma Sato, Graham Rahal and Marco Andretti.

The field includes nine former winners (Dixon, Sato, Kanaan, Hunter-Reay, Castroneves, Alexander Rossi, Juan Pablo Montoya, Simon Pagenaud and Will Power).
