Running back Damien Williams has filled the void left by the release of Kareem Hunt and now he’s being rewarded for it.
Thursday night, it was reported by several outlets, including Yahoo Sports and the NFL Network that the Chiefs have signed Williams to a two-year contract extension.
The deal has a maximum value of $8.1 million.
Williams has carried the ball 39 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Williams rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries and caught the ball seven times for 37 yards and a touchdown.
The Chiefs wrap up their regular season Sunday, when they play host to the Oakland Raiders.
