Former Wichita South High School football star Davonate Harris shines on the football field.
So much so, he was drafted in the 4th round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Wichita State University Black Student Union brought Harris to speak Thursday night at Hubbard Hall.
About 35 people turned out, as Harris spoke and answered questions for about an hour.
Harris spoke about his foundation, Wichita Kid, and how important it is to give back to the community.
“My biggest goal for it is to change what the perception of Wichita is, for the people that are in it, because those are the people you have to convince the most,” said Harris.
After graduating from Wichita South, Harris would go on to play college ball at Illinois State.
He graduated last year with a degree in Business.
