FC Wichita and Saint Louis split their regular season matches with both teams winning at home. FC Wichita held a 1-0 lead in Saint Louis before going a man down and falling in added time. The first round has been good to the boys in red. They beat Dallas City last season 3-2 in a game where FC Wichita trailed 2-1 at the half.
Both teams have qualified for the playoffs for a couple of weeks but Saint Louis backed into the playoffs. They were blitzed by Demize NPSL two weeks ago and had to fight hard to beat the winless Ozark FC last week in Rogers, Arksansas.
Saint Louis, still in their first season in the NPSL is right in the thick of things. They’ve qualified for the playoffs and now they have their striker CheVaughn Walsh back into match form. Ricardo Garza is listed as the head manager for Saint Louis. He’s was the head coach at Jefferson College, a junior college near Saint Louis before coming to take over Club Atletico.
If FC Wichita beats Saint Louis, they’ll host the winner of the Little Rock-Tulsa match, which will be played at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as well. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Academy Stadium on Saturday, July 14 if necessary.
