Jayhawks leave for San Antonio for Final Four

Local Sports

The Kansas Jayhawks are on their way to San Antonio for their first Final Four appearance in six years.

The men’s basketball team left Allen Fieldhouse at 2 p.m. Wednesday and then left from the Topeka Regional Airport (Forbes Field) at 3 p.m.

The Midwest Regional No. 1 Seed Jayhawks now have their sights set on the overall No. 1 Seed Villanova, the team that beat them one step shy of the Final Four two years ago.

If they defeat Villanova they will be back in the title game for the first time since 2012, and a step closer to winning their first championship in a decade.
