Over seven rounds, 254 names were called in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Two of those names came from Kansas State.
Offensive Lineman Dalton Risner was drafted in the second round (41st pick) to the Denver Broncos on Friday. The following day it would be defensive back Duke Shelley, who got picked in the sixth round (205th) by the Chicago Bears.
It was expected that redshirt junior running back Alex Barnes would hear his name called, but that never happened.
However, after the draft ended, the Tennessee Titans came calling.
The Titans inked Barnes to a deal as an undrafted free agent.
Barnes had a stellar 2018 season that saw him rush for 1,355 yards and 12 touchdowns on 256 carries. That was good enough to lead the Big 12 in rushing.
He also caught 20 passes for 194 yards.
Barnes would wrap up his career at Kansas State as one of five players who earned all-conference honors following the 2018 season.
