Nearly a dozen Derby student athletes sign National Letters of Intent

Local Sports

It’s the day many student athletes dream of, as they get to choose which school they will represent at the next level.

National Signing Day saw 11 student athletes at Derby High School sign on the dotted line Wednesday afternoon.

Seven Panther football players chose what college squad they’ll hit the field for.

One of those being former Derby quarterback Hunter Igo.

Igo will be headed to Fort Hays State to play both football and baseball.

“Honestly thought that was the best fit for me, with them offering both it was like, I’ll try both, might as well,” said Igo.

Wednesday wrapped up 2019 recruiting cycle.
