DePaul opened the gates by loading the bases, but only came up with one run after a double play and a Bingham strike out ended the top of the first with limited damage. Wichita State was quick to respond, with Madison Perrigan doubling to left field that scored Wylie Glover to tie the game a half-inning later. After the Shockers loaded the bases, Webber was hit by a pitch and drove in the go-ahead run.

DePaul came up with a double in the top of the third, cutting the lead to two runs after a single drove in the runner from second. The Shockers added to the lead off an error from the pitcher, extending the lead to 5-2.
Following a single from Derrico in the bottom of the fifth, the Shockers scored its sixth run off Perrigan’s second double of the game that scored Derrico from first. Bingham did not allow a DePaul hit in the final two innings, forcing the Blue Demons to hit .166 for the game.
The Shockers had four players collect two hits, with six of Wichita State’s nine batters producing a hit.
In Martinez’s first start of the season, she did not allow a hit until the sixth inning and pitched six shutout innings. The Shockers rallied behind Martinez’s pitching, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Wichita State looked to extend its lead in the top of the sixth, with Perrigan coming up with a single and Adi Reese drawing a walk to put runners on first and second. Webber doubled the lead with her first home run of the season, capping her third consecutive hit of the game.

Texas Southern prevented the game from ending in a run rule, starting the top of the sixth with a leadoff single and moving into scoring position after a sacrifice bunt. The Tigers avoided the shutout, coming up with a single down the right field line to make it an 8-1 game.
