High schools from across the state spent the past two days competing for the chance to be crowned champions.

The 6A and 5A championship finals in Park City started off with the 285 pound weight class.

In 6A, Refugio Chairez from Garden city claimed the top spot.

Over in 5A, it was Marcus Hicks, the Northwest Grizzly and Oklahoma football commit who was crowned champion.

In the final team standings, the Derby Panthers won their first 6A state title since 1986.

In 5A, Goddard was full steam ahead on day one and didn’t slow down, coming in first place.

Over in Salina at the 4A tourney, Marysville would come out on top, with Winfield coming in second place.

The 3A/2A/1A at Fort Hays State saw Eureka come away with the state tittle.
