The Shockers are taking on Lipscomb on Tuesday. Lipscomb comes in 27 and 7 overall while the Shockers are 22-14 overall. A win for the Shockers would get them to the championship round for the second time in 13 appearances and make them 23 and 14.
It would give them their ninth-straight NIT win.
Coach Marshall notes that being in the NIT with this team does feel a little different from the team last year going into the NCAA and then getting taking out in the first round. He says they felt that there were higher expectations for that team.
“Once we knew that we were in the NIT and had a chance to take Markis home, basically we’ve played some of our best basketball,” said Marshall.
Also in the show, how is your bracket going? We talk about some of the upsets you didn’t seeing coming – like Tenneese losing to Purdue.
In Shockers baseball, the shockers are hosting Bethune-Cookman in a three game series after beating K-State Wednesday 8 to 5. The Shockers get the win 2-0 and will play them Saturday.
And finally, opening day for the Royals was Thursday. They won against the White Sox 5-3. Keller was starting day pitcher and pitched seven scoreless innings.
The game started very late because of the rain but the Royals are offering vouchers for free tickets to fans who bought opening day tickets. The Royals will send an email in the next several days to those who purchased a ticket.
