Success is a way to define the Wichita Thunder Hockey Team’s performance last season. It was a season that saw the ECHL team return to the Kelly Cup playoffs for the first time in five seasons. It came to an end at the hands of the Colorado Eagles who ended up claiming the Kelly Cup title.
Head coach Malcolm Cameron Bolstered the line-up in the off-season by adding more experience, even pulling in former Tampa Lighting Forward Pierre-Cedric Labrie. It’s something returning players hope will help them build on last seasons success.
“You know, you need experience to win championships at every level and every sport, so I think we’ve got a lot of experience here, especially bringing in PC, an NHL guy and Elbrecht, who was a team captain in Kansas City last year, so we’ve got a lot more experience right now and obviously we’ve got a skilled team, fast, and we are a lot tougher,” says Dyson Stevenson, Wichita Thunder Forward .
