Tiffany Bias starred on the hardwood for the Andover Central Jaguars before ultimately going to Oklahoma State and later the WNBA.
Saturday morning, Bias held her first basketball camp back at her old stomping ground at Andover Central High School.
The camp saw about 30 kids, ages six and up, participate in a wide variety of drills and exercises.
Being back home, Bias says she felt it was important to give back to her community.
She says by having a wide range of age groups at this camp, it should help everyone who participated going forward.
“I think it’s crazy because I don’t think the older kids realize how big it is for the younger kids to see them do drills and work with them and do some drills together and all that, because them seeing them at that young age, at an older age makes them want to play and be like, oh, I want to do that when I get older too so just to have that aspect of it, to have young and old and kind of just intermix them a little bit when we can, I feel like it’s big for the generation,” said Bias.
Bias says she plans to make her basketball camp an annual event.
