WSU softball punches ticket to first NCAA Regional final in program history

An up-and-down day for the Wichita State softball team ends with them punching a ticket to their first ever NCAA Regional final.

After losing to the Arkansas Razorbacks earlier in the day, 5-0, the Shockers bounced back to defeat Oklahoma State, 5-4.

This was the fourth time, in four meetings, that the Shockers had beaten the Cowboys.

Paige Luellen helped the Shockers jump out to a lead in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI single.

In the third, Madison Perrigan hit two home runs in the game, including a two-run shot in the fifth inning that sealed the win for the Shockers in the elimination game.

Wichita State will face Arkansas again on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

If they win, it would force a winner-take-all game at 4 p.m., where the winner would advance to a Super Regional
