A young Lady Shockers squad focusing on team chemistry

The Wichita State Lady Shockers basketball team hit the hardwood Saturday afternoon for the first time this season.

Like the men’s team, the Lady Shockers took part in the Black and Gold scrimmage at Koch Arena.

Wichita State is only returning two seniors, Cesaria Ambrosio and Sabrina Lozada Cabbage from last year, when they went nine and seven in conference play.

Being a young team, they know there are some things they can build off heading into the regular season.

“I think we really need to build our chemistry on the court so we can know our teammates and what they can do and what they lack, so we can just all come together and just be a very good team,” said Maya Brewer, junior forward.

The Lady Shockers will open the year on November 1st, when they play host to Missouri Southern State.

That game is set to tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
