On Wednesday night, the Shockers found out who they will face, but it’s a team many have not heard of before.
“I do not know,“ says WSU student Sophia Bachman.
On WSU’s campus, Lipscomb is not exactly a well-known name.
“Really?“ Dakota Bauman. “Where are they from?“
They’re the Bisons from Nashville, Tennessee, and pulled off a thrilling upset to win their last game over North Carolina State. So, what’s the beef with the Bison?
“Who the heck?” asks Hao Dang.
“Sounds like a type of chap stick,” adds Bauman.
Quin Hall agrees. ”Something on somebody’s lips.“
Most students at WSU aren’t trying to throw shade at the team, just trying to size up their next opponent.
Dang asks, “Is it a college?“
It is a college and a team that has won 28 games this year so the Shockers are going to have to bring all they have in order to beat them and move on to the championship..
“Sending all my love,“ says La’cacia Anderson
“I hope they do well,“ says Blythe Houchen.
I am really happy about it,“ says Medha Chereddy. “I have always been hearing about like Wichita State University that they have the best basketball team and now they are proving it.“
The Shockers face the Libscomb Bisons Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the NIT tournament.
