Gregg Marshall’s had several assistant coaches end up as head coaches. But he’s never had the chance to see two of them participate in their first NCAA Tournament in the same city as he’ll be in.
That’ll change this week as New Mexico State’s Chris Jans and the College of Charleston’s Earl Grant, both former Shocker assistants, will also be playing in San Diego. Jans’ Aggies squad will take on Clemson, while Grant’s Cougars will face Auburn.
Of course, Wichita State plays the first game of the day on Friday in San Diego against Marshall at 12:30 p.m. CT. And Gregg Marshall plans on watching his former assistant coaches’ games later on in the evening!
