Derricks Discussion – Severe weather moving in

Weather Blog

It’s time to get you ahead of the storms. Over the next few days, the possibility of severe weather will be around. Lets break it down!!

Tonight, everything will stay quiet. Lows drop into the 40’s and 50’s. The winds will pick up in NW and SW Kansas. A few showers and a couple of rumbles could pass. These storms tonight will NOT be severe.

Tomorrow, the winds strengthen in Wichita and all of Kansas. Clouds also build back into Wichita. A few storms will pop up in NW and SW Kansas. These bring the potential of severe storms. The main concern with these storms will be large hail and damaging winds. Storms start firing up shortly after 2. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s.

These storms will be triggered around 2. These storms will stay isolated. In fact, one town will see the rain while others stay dry.

Monday, more ingredients for severe weather moves into Kansas. The bulk of the severe weather stays in SW and NW Kansas. A few storms will stray in SC and NC Kansas too. These storms have the ability of producing very large hail and damaging winds. The tornado threat is low. However, there is a chance of a tornado or two. We will know more come tomorrow and Monday morning on the possibility of tornadoes.

Tuesday/Wednesday – This setup looks very interesting. These days are also two days we will have to watch carefully. It does seem the severe weather looks to move into the Wichita area. With it still being far out, it’s hard to say what the severe weather threats will be. We will continue to watch these storms as they develop.
