Derrick’s Discussion – Winds ramp up with a chance of rain north

Weather Blog

Temperatures warmed back into the 80’s today with stronger winds in SW Kansas. These high winds brought a high fire danger in SW Kansas. This high fire danger will decrease tonight.

Sustainable winds vary from 10-40 MPH across the state. The winds will increase in Wichita through the evening and night.Tonight, temperatures stay mild. Lows dropping into the 40’s with a few clouds. There is a small chance of rain for our northern counties. This rain will be light and brief. Tomorrow, you can expect lots of sun with mild temperatures. It will be a cool 70 degree day with the winds out of the north.

No big rain chances for Wichita for the next couple of days. Friday night, that’s when a stronger system will push in. This will bring rain and a few thunderstorms across the state. This rain will be in the area off and on all day Saturday and could linger into the early art of Sunday. Enjoy your SPRING temperatures the next couple of days.
