New Severe Thunderstorm Watch, including Wichita, in effect until midnight

Storms are starting to sprout across western Oklahoma and south-central Kansas. A NEW Severe T-Storm Watch has been issued until midnight which includes the Wichita Metro and Sedgwick County.  

Other counties included are Barber, Butler, Chase, Chautauqua, Cowley, Elk, Greenwood, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Lyon, Marion, Pratt, Reno, and Sumner.

Please continue to be weather aware heading into evening. Additional thunderstorms will develop to the northeast into Kansas in the coming hours. Large hail and damaging winds will be our chief concerns.  Heavy rainfall will accompany the storms. There is also an isolated tornado risk into early tonight.
