On Ronelle’s Radar: Another round of strong storms Friday

Weather Blog

Much of Friday will be pretty quiet with a slight chance of a shower, partly cloudy skies, and a breeze. Morning temperatures start off cooler too, in the 60s and even 50s. Highs will be warmer while reaching the middle and upper 80s.

We’ll have to stay weather aware though as there’s a good chance of severe storms in the area as early as the afternoon hours.

NW KS will be first in line to see strong storms move in between early and late afternoon.

Strong storms will continue to move through Western Kansas through the evening. Damaging winds are the main threat but there’s also a threat of large hail and flooding. The risk of a tornado is low but not zero.

A few of these storms will move into Central Kansas too. Storms should weaken by the time we reach the overnight to leave us with only some leftover showers Saturday morning. A chance of on/off showers and rumbles will linger through the day with another chance of potentially strong storms Saturday evening that could bring damaging gusts and hail.
