A few showers or rumbles will make their way through the western half of the viewing area this morning but many of our skies are clear and dry to start our Friday.

Expect another day filled with hot sunshine into the afternoon followed by some spotty pop up storms through afternoon and early evening. Any storms that develop will be hit or miss and mainly in western and south Kansas.

Severe weather isn’t anticipated but expect some lightning, isolated downpours, and possibly some small hail and gusty winds. We’re still in the dog days of summer and it’ll feel like it as highs reach the low to middle 90s.

Once the sun goes down, isolated storms will quickly fizzle out and skies will turn clear again.

More hot sunshine Saturday with highs in the low 90s but skies should stay dry all day. We’ll start to see rain chances go back up in the area by Sunday and especially next week where chances are looking a bit more likely. Our next unsettled pattern will also bring highs down into the 80s.
