We’re tracking areas of rain and thunderstorms this evening, moving northeast at 35 to 40 mph. Expect lightning and heavy rain at times. The main storm system is spinning over Arizona. Until that moves past Kansas, our rain and flooding concerns will continue.
Heavy rain and thunder will persist overnight. There will be more Monday and Tuesday.
There is the potential to see some 3 to 5 inch totals with locally higher amounts over 5 inches not out of the question in central Kansas by the time the storm system departs late Tuesday.
Flood watches remain in effect until early Wednesday.
Overnight look for showers and storms, with some locally heavy rain and steady temperatures. For Monday … Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Look for highs in the 60s and 70s.
Rain chances will continue through Tuesday before a couple of dry and cooler days Wednesday and Thursday.
