Temperatures were colder this afternoon over the snow pack in western Kansas but at least there was a good deal of sunshine. Clouds will continue to increase overnight with a possibility of a light wintry mix of freezing drizzle and snowflakes over south central Kansas, especially to the east of the turnpike. A few flurries are possible along the cold front late tonight in the northwest.Colder air will pour into Kansas tomorrow on blustery north winds. Highs in the 20s and 30s are forecast tomorrow but look for falling temperatures in the north and west in the afternoon. There will be a chance of a wintry mix and some light snow but no accumulation is expected. Check out the wind chills that are possible as we ring in the New Year. Whatever plans you have out and about, bundle up!
Highs in Wichita will only climb into the 20s on New Year’s Day. Milder weather will move back in, especially late week into next weekend.
