A quiet evening is on the way but watch for increasing clouds. After midnight, we anticipate some light rain and showers to develop, especially in parts of central and south central Kansas. Overnight lows will drop into the 30s and 40s with a south wind for Wichita.Have the rain gear for the morning commute and for the kids heading to school. The rain should move off to the east by lunchtime.
Afternoon highs will reach the 50s and 60s with gusty northwest winds.
While Tuesday looks quiet, unsettled weather is set to develop late Wednesday and lasting into the day Thursday. Mostly snow should fall in especially the northern two-thirds of the state with a wintry mix farther south. Accumulating snow is possible in some areas but, thanks to many factors, there’s still some question marks on exactly how much.It will be a cold finish to the work week with highs in the 40s for Wichita. Other places in the state won’t get out of the 30s Thursday afternoon.
