More quiet weather is being seen across the state for our Monday but that will begin to change as we step into tonight.
An upper-level wave of energy will start to scoot in and with that, our rain chances will heighten. At first, NW Kansas will have a better shot but by Tuesday most of the viewing area will be seeing scattered showers.
The rainfall isn’t looking terribly heavy with most of us picking up between a 0.10″ up to a 0.25″ but there could be some pockets of more moderate rain across NC Kansas where some locations could see over 0.50″.
Wichita’s best chance at seeing rain arrives in the afternoon as a line of showers looks to swing through.
Most of the moisture should be exiting late Tuesday night but we can’t rule out a sprinkle early Wednesday. Drier air will continue to build throughout our Wednesday which will help break up the cloud deck with even more sunshine expected by Thursday. Temperatures will remain seasonable through mid-week with highs in the 50s and 60s with more mild air streaming in for the latter half of the workweek.
This will warmth will be developing out ahead our next weathermaker and this one is looking a bit more impressive than Tuesday’s system. There will be a little more juice with these waves of energy which will spark up our thunderstorms chances. Rain will be moving in during the day on Friday with on and off showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday into Sunday. Highs look to bounce right back into the 60s by this weekend which is a little above average for this time of March. In terms of our severe threat, this will be something we will keep monitoring because there could be a threat of a rogue stronger storm. Stay with the Storm Track 3 Team for the latest.
Have a great night!
