It’s been a gorgeous closeout to the weekend in the wake of that storm system that brought some rain and stronger thunderstorms to the area.
We saw more in the way of sun today along with more seasonable conditions. NW winds will continue to pump in cooler air tonight into the day on Monday with highs falling back into the 40s and 50s.
A weak disturbance situated to the west will begin to move our way tonight into the start of the workweek which will make for increasing clouds and some isolated showers.
The majority of this should fall apart as it gets to Wichita, so we’ll keep the showers chances out west. By Tuesday, drier weather is taking back over as high pressure begins to build in.
This will give us more sun with warmer temps as the winds turn back around to a more southerly direction. This ridge holds strong through most of the week but it’ll be a little ”dirty” as a couple of waves of energy move through. They’re looking disorganized right now, but we could have a few sprinkles across the state Wednesday with a slightly better chance at showers on Thursday in NC and SC Kansas thanks to a warm front.
This system looks to develop as it moves eastward and become more surface based by Friday into the weekend. This could give us an even greater chance at showers and even thunderstorms by the day on Friday with some mixed precipitation out in NW Kansas. This will be something to watch through the workweek with some lingering moisture possibly into our Saturday. Temperatures will surge by mid-week, climbing back into the 70s and even 80s for some of us with cooler reading by the weekend.
Have a great night!
