Teachman's Take: Bitter Overnight Brings A Warmer Saturday

It's been a cold day across Kansas.  Highs were in the 20s and 30s with the 40s in the southwest part of the state.  When you factored in the wind, it felt like the teens in many places.

This evening for area football games, you will want to load up the layers.  Temps will be in the 20s after sunset with wind chills primarily in the teens.

Overnight, get ready for the coldest air so far this season.

We could tie a record for Wichita by Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon, temps turn warmer.  However, the winds will be strong which may not make it feel that warm for you.

Sunday into Sunday night, a wintry mix will develop.  It begins in western Kansas early in the day and spreads east/southeast by evening.

Snowfall amounts look light anywhere from a trace to 2" of snow.

Next week, a welcomed warm-up is in sight!  By Wednesday, highs will return to the 50s and eventually the 60s.  No big storm systems are in store for next week.
