Teachman’s Take: Friday Night Chill, Weekend Warm Up

Weather Blog

We had a taste of fall today!  With clouds and a stiff northeasterly wind, temperatures have been divided.  It’s been significantly cooler in the northwestern part of our viewing area compared to points farther southeast.

Temperatures are dropping here in Wichita.  Before you leave for your hometown football game, grab a sweatshirt, a pair of jeans and the poncho!

Drizzle and showers will develop as the evening continues.

Light, spotty showers will linger through the overnight and into Saturday morning.

These showers will lift to the northeast by Saturday afternoon.

Overnight lows will drop into the 40s.

We will start to see warming conditions as early as tomorrow!

The position of the front by Sunday will need to be watched because model trends now show that it will hug the Kansas/Nebraska state line.  This means folks in northern Kansas will see clouds, drizzle, a spotty shower or two and cooler temperatures.

By Monday, all of us will warm into the 80s and possibly 90s before our next cold front comes in on Thursday.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see a stronger storm as this front passes through by the end of next week.
