Teachman’s Take: Isolated Tuesday Storm, Heat Returns

Weather Blog

A few showers have greeted folks in northern Kansas today.  These are wrapping around the back of the storm system that gave us quite a bit of heavy rain over the last 24 hours.

I’m expecting areas north of I-70 to continue to see showers through early evening.

Hopefully you enjoyed the comfortable temperatures today because in true Kansas fashion, they won’t stick around.

Summer has been waiting for us and will make a rude return Tuesday with highs back into the 90s.

As a warm front lifts across the state, it could spark a few thunderstorms from central into eastern Kansas.

Areas to our east will have a better shot of seeing these storms.

After this chance fades away, sunshine will dominate with the heat for the rest of the work week and into the weekend.  Another front arrives over the weekend which will renew our rain chances.  Be sure to join me tonight on KSN News.  I’ll have your updated forecast and help you plan your week. – Chief Meteorologist Lisa Teachman
