Teachman’s Take: Mild Overnight, Friday’s Storms

Weather Blog

We’ve been on a sweet roll this week when it comes to temperatures.  While nature kicked up the heat a notch today, it is still nice seeing as the humidity is rather low.

Overnight, temperatures will be warm with plenty of stars.  The winds will relax slightly after sunset.

But, those winds will kick up even stronger for your Friday from the south at 15 to 25 MPH.  Gusts could approach 35 MPH.

This will usher in hotter, widespread temps in the middle 90s.

Storms will inch closer to western Kansas late Friday afternoon and through the evening.

These storms will weaken overnight and struggle to reach the Wichita metro Saturday morning.

We’ll probably have to wait until next Tuesday before our rain chances start to improve across the state.

And we could use some, especially in central and northeast Kansas where the drought is still the worst.
