Temps are warm and the winds are gusty today.  This hasn’t been a good combination for firefighters as they’ve been battling several grass fires across the state.  Fire Weather Warnings are in effect for the majority of the state.

Until we get some rain, this will be a common occurrence.  Please remember to do your part and not be the spark that starts any fires.

Heading into Thursday, the winds will be just as strong.  Temps will be even warmer.

There are 2 storm systems on the way heading into the weekend.  The first arrives Thursday night and into Friday morning.  Moisture looks pretty limited for us.  I do see a better chance for showers and thunderstorms up around the KC Metro.

The second storm system moves in on Sunday.  Once again, most of us will get robbed on the moisture.  Join me tonight on KSN News at 5, 6 and 10.  I’ll show you how long this warmth sticks around and track our rain chances hour by hour. – Chief Meteorologist Lisa Teachman
