Teachman’s Take: Showers Last Into Friday, Mild & Sunny Weekend

Weather Blog

You probably noticed the increase in cloud cover here in Wichita this afternoon.  It’s a sign of showers on the way.

For much of the day, showers have favored western Kansas.  That will change overnight as this moisture moves to the east.

A few showers will be leftover early Friday morning.  By the time we get to the lunch hour, this rain will be gone and the clouds will decrease from the west to the east.

Overnight temperatures will be cool in the upper 30s from the northwest part of our viewing area to the lower 50s here in Wichita.

These showers will be light, only accumulating from a tenth to a quarter of an inch.

Because it will take longer for the rain and clouds to move away from south central Kansas, it will cost us when it comes to temps.  We will be the coolest whereas places that return to sunshine faster will be warmer.

This weekend, while a cold front sags south, it will knock a few degrees off our temps.  It will be a small change — still beautiful — with comfy temps in the 60s with sunshiny skies.

Rain won’t make a return until the middle of next week.
