Teachman’s Take: The Heat Keeps Coming

Weather Blog

Dangerously hot temperatures have spread across the state.  Right now, temps are well into the 90s and the triple digits.

When you factor in the humidity, it is worse.  Heat indices earlier today hit 115 in some spots!

A Heat Advisory remains in effect in the orange shaded areas which means more days will be filled with heat indices up to 110.

Please take the heat seriously and stay hydrated.  Make sure your kids are staying cool and don’t forget about your furry friends!  They love the A/C, too!

Storm chances for the next few days will be on the spotty side.  This evening, a shower or two is possible along the Kansas/Colorado state line.

A few more storms could also pop up along and north of I-70 through early tonight.  Brief heavy rain and lighting are likely.  But, I can’t rule out a stronger storm having gusty winds and small hail.

A similar set-up is expected for Thursday and Friday evenings with spotty storms targeting western Kansas.

Over the weekend, temps will drop slightly.  We also stand a better chance for widespread storms.  Join me tonight on KSN News for a look at how much of a cool down we’ll get and when those storms will hit. – Chief Meteorologist Lisa Teachman
