Teachman’s Take: Weekend Changes, Slim Rain Risk

Weather Blog

Has this been a nice day or what?  Temperatures today have warmed well into the 60s and 70s across Kansas.

Winds have been a bit stronger in western Kansas where there is an elevated fire concern through early evening.

Over the weekend, a storm system will slide to the south of us.  The clouds will thicken up overnight and stick around through Saturday.  There is a chance for a spotty shower or two across central and eastern Kansas.

There could also be a few claps of thunder along the Kansas/Oklahoma state line.  This chance won’t last too long before it quickly departs by evening.  Count yourself lucky if you get a drop of rain because they are hard to come by right now.

Heading into next week, I’m not seeing much more hope when it comes to rain.  However, it will feel like spring.  Where temps are headed on KSN News tonight at 5, 6 and 10. – Chief Meteorologist LisaTeachman
