Teachman’s Take: Weekend Storms, Heavy Rainfall Expected

Weather Blog

Warm and humid! Temps right now are hovering in the 80s.

Factor in the humidity and it feels like 90 here in Wichita this evening.

Storms are to our west over Colorado, New Mexico and farther south — approaching the Oklahoma Panhandle.

These storms will march in our direction as the evening continues and lose a lot of their punch after dark.

Storms will once again favor western Kansas Saturday evening.

Those storms will hold together and spread across the state Saturday night and through Sunday.

The rainfall will be heavy at times.  It isn’t out of the question to pick up anywhere from 1″ to 3″ of rain if you get under some of the heaviest rain.  This could cause flash flooding, so please be weather aware this weekend.

The best day to do anything outside will be Saturday.  Sunday, unfortunately, looks like a washout.
