Western’s Weather Wrap: Hot Memorial Day, Some Storms

Weather Blog

A *Severe Thunderstorm Watch* remains in effect for western Kansas through 9 PM. A few severe storms have been ongoing through the evening with up to ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Track them on radar right here: http://www.ksn.com/weather/radar

For the rest of the state, it will be the perfect evening to spend in the backyard by the pool, grilling, or just hanging out with family and friends! We’ll stay warm with plenty of sunshine and a slight breeze.

Then we’ll do this all over again for your Memorial Day tomorrow: Hot, partly cloudy, breezy, with afternoon storms in western Kansas.

A Slight Risk for severe weather is in place across our western counties for Monday afternoon and evening, so make sure you’re staying weather aware if you have any outdoor plans for the holiday!

This risk then shifts into central Kansas, including Wichita, for Tuesday afternoon and evening. For both days, large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

I’ll have another update on our storm chances tonight on KSN News at 10!
