Still cold in Wichita this morning with stubborn clouds and breezy winds making it feel like it’s in the 20s.
At least it’s warmer than yesterday, though! We’re expecting to get to the low 50s in Wichita this evening, but western Kansas will get sunshine and temperatures soaring into the 70s and 80s!
It won’t last, though. Another cold front is on the way for tonight into tomorrow, bringing a small chance for some spotty showers in our northern and eastern counties.
The big story with this system, though, is just the wind. We have High Wind Watches and Warnings in place for western Kansas tonight through tomorrow with gusts up to 60 mph. This will cause blowing dust and reduced visibility, and will make it difficult to drive, especially with high profile vehicles, so be cautious!
We also have Fire Weather Warnings for southwest Kansas today, with Fire Weather Watches in place for tomorrow. Just know that the fire danger will be a huge problem all across the state on these dry and windy days, so please be careful!
And I’ll have the details on our next chance for rain coming up on KSN News at Noon.
